Dr. Amin is a graduate of the National University of Iran, Tehran, Iran. He moved to New York to complete his residency in internal medicine at Interfaith Medical Center and St. John's Episcopal Hospital. Dr. Amin completed his cardiology fellowship at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, St. Francis Heart Center, and Metropolitan Hospital Center at New York Medical College.
He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Amin is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Since joining Atlanta Heart Associates in 1992 he has served as Chief of Staff at Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge, GA and Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA. He is currently serving on the Medical Staff Board at Southern Regional. He sees patients at the Stockbridge, Riverdale, Jackson, and Locust Grove locations.
Dr. Rao is the founding member of Atlanta Heart Associates, where he has served as president and CEO since 1992. Dr. Rao graduated from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He moved to New York to complete his internship and residency at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. His cardiology fellowship was completed at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
Dr. Rao has been a staple in our community over the past eighteen years serving in various positions at area hospitals including Chief of Staff, member of the Board of Trustees, and Cardiology Department Chairman for Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA. He is currently serving on the Board of Trustees at Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge, GA and sits on the Henry County Board of Health. Dr. Rao sees patients in our Riverdale and Stockbridge offices.
Dr. Egbe graduated from the College of Medicine at the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1980. He completed a residency in preventative medicine and earned a master's degree from Yale School of Medicine. Afterwards, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, New York.
Dr. Egbe is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He is a member of the Atlanta Medical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Egbe has served as Chief of Staff and Chairman of Cardiology at South Fulton Medical Center in East Point, GA. He currently sees patients at our East Point, Riverdale and Camp Creek locations.
Dr. Adele graduated from medical school in 1984 at University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, CT. Following his residency, Dr. Adele was granted a research fellowship at Yale University. He then attended the University of Vermont to acquire cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships. Dr. Adele is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He follows his patients at our Riverdale location.
Dr. Sekar earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College, Madras University, India in 1982. Prior to his arrival in the United States, Dr. Sekar was trained in England, where he first studied cardiology. There he worked as a Registrar of Cardiology in Sunderland City Hospital, then as Registrar of Transplant Cardiology in Harefield Hospital, the largest transplant center in the world.
Once in the United States, Dr Sekar completed a residency in internal medicine at State University of New York at Buffalo and a cardiology fellowship at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He is certified in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation through the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Sekar is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Spalding Regional Medical Center and currently sees patients in our Griffin and Stockbridge offices.
Dr. Smith is a graduate of the University for Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he also completed his internship and residency in internal medicine. Dr. Smith went on to complete a cardiology fellowship program at St. Vincent's Medical Center through New York Medical College. He is board certified in internal medicine as well as cardiovascular disease. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Smith is involved in Atlanta Heart Associates' community outreach programs. He makes himself available to speak with patients and members of the community at health fairs and educational events. He follows his patients at the Stockbridge, Riverdale, Jackson, and Peachtree City locations.
Dr. Braunstein earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in 1996. She completed her internal medicine residency in 1999 and followed by a fellowship in cardiology at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY in 2002.
Dr. Braunstein is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. She specializes in non-invasive cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Braunstein sees patients in the Riverdale and Stockbridge offices.
Dr. Kanukunta earned his medical degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India. He completed his internal medicine residency at Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. In 1995, Dr. Kanukunta completed his cardiology fellowship at Providence Hospital and Medical Center in Southfield, MI. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He specializes in interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular interventions. He currently sees patients at our Stockbridge and Griffin locations.
Dr. Reddy studied for his medical degree at Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in India. Upon receiving his medical degree, Dr Reddy moved to the United States, where he completed his internal medicine residency at Metro West Medical Center an affiliate of University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA. Dr. Reddy moved to Arkansas where he completed fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. He also has special interest in the treatment and prevention of peripheral artery disease. Since Dr. Reddy started his practice he has quickly gained the respect of his peers, the community, and above all his patients. Patients love his personality, good bedside manner, and most importantly, his caring attitude. Dr. Reddy maintains memberships in the American Medical Association (AMA), the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAAI), and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT).
He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He currently follows his patients at the Stockbridge, Riverdale and Griffin offices.

Dr. Gupta obtained his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his fellowships in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Gupta is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
He specializes in cardiac electrophysiology and has special interest in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac device implantations. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He sees patients at our Stockbridge and Riverdale locations.
Dr. Doughan attended medical school at American University of Beirut, Lebanon where he also completed an internship.
From Lebanon, he came to the United States to complete his internal medicine residency at Emory University Medical School in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Doughan also completed his cardiology fellowship at Emory University.
He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac CT. Dr Doughan is also a testamur of the national board of echocardiography (NBE) in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. He has published in national peer-reviewed journals and presented research at several national scientific meetings.
Dr. Doughan sees patients in the Stockbridge, Riverdale and Jackson offices.
Dr. Kunjummen completed his medical degree at Ross School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. He went on to an internal medicine residency at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield, NJ. Dr. Kunjummen went on to complete three fellowships in different sub-specialties of cardiology.
A pacemaker and device fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Hospital, Newark, NJ, cardiology fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, LA and finally, an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Texas School of Medicine, Houston, TX. He is board certified in internal medicine and is looking forward to practicing medicine at our Fayetteville (effective January 1, 1011), Stockbridge, and Riverdale offices.
Jauna Patterson is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. She received her doctoral training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She is board certified in Family Practice by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Jauna is the current Treasurer for the United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia. She has a passion for research. As Clinical Trial Research Director for Atlanta Heart Associates she mostly recently completed two clinical trials: SMART-AV and RATE REGISTRY.
Other practice areas of interest include preventative cardiovascular medicine and women and heart disease. Her most recent activities include developing a community education and screening program for cardiovascular disease risk factors.
The impact of this program is currently being evaluated for publication. Jauna joined Atlanta Heart Associates in 2005 and sees patients in the Riverdale and Stockbridge offices.
